Transfer: Al-Ahli To Pay £50m For Ivan Toney Or Face Rejection

Ivan toney

Brentford has set a £50m price tag on England striker Ivan Toney, as Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli considers a revised offer.

Al-Ahli’s initial bid of around £35m was rejected by the Bees, but Brentford hopes to secure a deal before the transfer window closes.

Toney, in the final year of his contract, had hoped to join a top Premier League club this summer.

Despite impressive performances for England at Euro 2024 and links to Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, West Ham, and Manchester United, no deal has materialized.

The 28-year-old was absent from Brentford’s 2-1 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday but continues to train with the team as they await a suitable offer.

Al-Ahli or another club must meet Brentford’s valuation for a transfer to happen.

If Toney departs for Saudi Arabia, Brentford will not actively seek a replacement.

The club has recently signed Igor Thiago (£30m) and Fabio Carvalho (£27.5m), and has Bryan Mbeumo, Yoane Wissa, and Kevin Schade available for forward positions.

Thiago may miss the rest of the year due to a knee injury, but the Bees are prepared to rely on their existing squad.
