Manchester City were the latest club to unveil a player’s statue, as the club honoured former striker Sergio Aguero with an impressive monument located at the Etihad Stadium.
The statue depicts Aguero’s ecstatic celebration after netting the winner against Queens Park Rangers to lead Manchester City to their first ever Premier League title.
“Truthfully, it is a very beautiful thing for me, to see myself 10 years ago is very moving,” said Aguero.
“In those 10 years I was able to win a lot of trophies and was able to help the club become one of the most important in the world.”
Aguero may have enjoyed the ceremony, with his statue being admittedly stunning,
but there are other players who may not have been happy with the end result.
