Eriksen Reveals What He Told His Wife After He Suffered A Heart Scare At Euro 2020,

Former Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen is back in professional football, having signed with Brentford during the January transfer window.

The Danish professional footballer suffered a heart scare at Euro 2020,

and had an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) device fitted.

He is allowed to play in the UK, something the device prevented him from doing in Italy.

He is excited to be back, even if he previously told his wife Sabrina that he might retire.

Eriksen said in an interview:

“Even with this condition, there are no limits,”

“You can run a marathon, deep-dive swimming or whatever.

It just depends on the diagnosis and how you feel about it.

“I told Sabrina I’d leave my boots, but also to not be surprised if in a few days I’d change my mind if everything was OK.

Luckily, it’s been OK.

“For me, normal was getting back to playing in Italy, but I wasn’t allowed to do this.

“So the normal had to change. We have the chance to get back to a normal life at Brentford.”

“Condition-wise and strength-wise I am in a very good place,” he said.

“It’s just the football touch that needs to come back and get up to speed.

We’ll see how my body reacts, but I feel very good.”
