France Vs Morocco XI: Team News, Possible Lineup

France face Morocco in a World Cup 2022 semifinal that pits the defending world champions against this year’s underdog story.

The Atlas Lions stunned Portugal 1-0 to reach the final four, while Les Bleus sent a dogged England side home via a 2-1 scoreline to keep their hopes of back-to-back titles alive.

Both France and Morocco are sweating over the fitness of two players as they prepare to face off in tonight’s World Cup semi-final.

Defender Dayot Upamecano and midfielder Adrien Rabiot are both doubtful after missing training on Tuesday due to illness.

The pair were able to complete light training indoors but did not join the full group.

Upamecano had already missed Monday’s training session.

Up top, Olivier Giroud is looking to become the oldest player in history to score five goals in a single World Cup.

Morocco captain Romain Saiss has vowed to “give everything” to be fit for the game.

The defender was stretchered off 57 minutes into Morocco’s quarter-final victory against Portugal and is now considered a doubt.

Fellow centre-back Nayef Aguerd is another who needs assessing ahead of kick-off.
