Manchester United are reportedly closing in on a deal for Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres, with a £60m price tag attached to the Swedish striker.
Despite Arsenal’s interest, Gyokeres is said to be open to a reunion with former boss Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford.
Amorim Factor
Amorim, now at the helm of Manchester United, would supposedly relish working with Gyokeres again.
The two have stayed in contact since Amorim’s departure from Sporting, and a potential reunion could be a key factor in Gyokeres’ decision.

Competition Heats Up
However, Manchester United aren’t the only suitors.
Juventus are monitoring the situation, and Saudi Pro League clubs Al-Ittihad and Al Quadisiya are also interested. Gyokeres, though, has expressed no desire to leave Europe.
Potential United Attack
If signed, Gyokeres could form a devastating frontline with Matheus Cunha and Bruno Fernandes, who has rejected a move to Al-Hilal.
Manchester United are also working on a deal for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, but a first offer has been rejected.
