‘I’ve Dreamt About This’ Son Reacts To Winning Golden Boot

Tottenham star Heung-min Son says winning the Golden Boot is the realisation of a childhood dream.

Needing at least two goals on Sunday at Norwich City on the final day of the season to overtake Mohamed Salah, Son did just that as Spurs won 5-0 at Carrow Road.

Golden Boot rival Mohamed Salah came off the bench at Liverpool to score to leave the pair tied on 23 goals for the season.

Salah’s tally helped in part by being on penalty duties at Liverpool.

It is the first time in eight seasons in which Harry Kane has not finished as top scorer for Tottenham,

but the Spurs striker was quick to congratulate his team-mate, calling him “different class.”

Speaking to reporters after the game, Son said:

“I feel very emotional because when I was a kid I dreamt about this.

“I still can’t believe it’s in my hands.

“It is an unbelievable achievement, but I am very grateful to my team-mates, supporters, coaching staff and everyone that helps me.”

“I think we can still do better because I know the team and how much quality we have.

I believe so much in this team. We should be happy to be in the Champions League, but we can do much better.

Next season we need to perform really well.

“There is always space to improve. As soon as the new manager came, everything has changed.

It was incredible. There is no secret, it is hard work and believing in ourself.”
