Robert Lewandowski has started this week by returning to Germany to bid farewell to Bayern Munich, meeting various club employees to thank them for their support during his eight years in Bavaria.

Barcelona even though he had one more year left on his Bayern Munich contract, but there are no hard feelings.

“I was sad and difficult,” he told Sky Sports during his visit to Munich.

“I will always be grateful for what I won and experienced here.

“I have thanked everyone for what they did for me and given them gifts.

It was emotional and difficult.

“The last few weeks were difficult for everyone, but I will never forget what I had here and I thank the fans for their support.

“Now I can leave with a clear conscience.”
