Liverpool vs Bologna: Salah Shines Again, Nunez Struggles

The winger, who will remain free next summer, scored and then scored a stunning goal as Arne Slott’s side beat their Italian visitors 2-0.

When do Liverpool want Mohamed Salah to sign a new contract?! Because Egypt’s recovery cannot be rushed. As the King of Egypt repeated Wednesday’s Champions League win over Bologna on Wednesday night, the Reds lost without their marks.

The game at Anfield eventually ended in a 2-0 win for the hosts, but Arne Slott’s side were in the thick of the game for long periods and their Italian opponents scored twice in the first half.

However, Salah made the same decision. The winger set up Alexis McAllister’s opener and then wrapped up Liverpool’s second Champions League win in the league this season with a late 15-minute finish.

Below are the GOALS for All Reds as Salah fell again on another disappointing night for Darwin Nunes.

Goalkeeper & Defence

Alisson Becker (7/10):

It did well to hold off good work from Kacper Urbanski and a decent stand from Riccardo Orsoloni.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (6.5/10):

Bologna’s right-backs were targeted, with little space at times in dangerous areas, but Alexander-Arnold fired forward powerfully and his overlap created the space for Salah to score Liverpool’s second goal.

Ibrahima Konate (7/10):

Made a brave block to stop Dan Ndoye’s effort on the bar in the first half and also impressed with the pass.

Virgil van Dijk (7/10):

He struggled after picking up a yellow card for a silly tackle on Theis Dallinga, but generally held his own in the middle of the defence.

Andy Robertson (5/10):

It wasn’t a good night for the Scot who was substituted with 20 minutes to go. It didn’t go to his liking, as Bologna did well on Liverpool’s left flank and a pointless yellow card for pulling on Stefan Posch’s shirt.

Midfield

Ryan Gravenberch (7.5/10):

In addition to being dangerous, the Dutchman is also good in midfield, defending well and always leading when he passes. Also won the ball more than any other Liverpool player (nine times in total).

Alexis Mac Allister (7.5/10):

His finish didn’t get any easier, but the ever-busy Argentine started a move that ended in his first goal of the season. The speed of action and readability of the game is always impressive.

Attack

Mohamed Salah (8.5/10):

Mishit made a few crosses in the first half but he played a great ball to turn Mac Allister. His goal was also beautifully timed. There is only one class match that Liverpool cannot afford to lose at the end of the season.

Dominik Szoboszlai (7.5/10):

He was close with a strong performance early on, lively in an attacking midfield role that would have been his favorite, and the Hungarian found Salah in the area before the break. weapon of the Egyptian.

Luis Diaz (7/10):

As usual, his sharing caused problems for the opposition and he looked like he was about to score a solo goal before he even left the field.

Darwin Nunez (4/10):

He was on the hour mark contributing little to the game apart from another disallowed goal after his foul play. He’s still very disappointing, and we’ve yet to see any evidence that Slott knows how to get the most out of him.

Subs & Manager

Diogo Jota (6/10):

He got ahead of Nunez with more of a scoring threat.

Kostas Tsimikas (6/10):

He came on to replace Robertson at left-back and did nothing wrong.

Cody Gakpo (N/A):

In the 71st minute, he was introduced as a substitute for Luis Diaz, but his goal was not clear.

Connor Bradley (N/A):

He was always late.

Connor Jones (N/A):

In just five minutes with Bradley.

Riu Aana (7/10):

The Dutchman has deviated little from his ideal starting line-up this season – but why has he? The team is doing well and winning all the time. Nunez’s form will remain a concern for another good night for Castle, but he should urge his bosses to make a decision on Salah’s future soon.
