Manchester City XI Vs Wolves: Team News, Latest Injury, Possible Lineup

Manchester City head to Wolves on Saturday with a couple of injury problems in defence.

Aymeric Laporte will miss the game at Molineux as he continues to recover from a knee injury but Pep Guardiola is set to welcome the defender back after the international break.

Kyle Walker is likewise only likely to return against Manchester United early next month after sitting out the midweek win over Borussia Dortmund due to a knock.

City went with John Stones at right-back in his comeback game on Wednesday night and he could continue there against Wolves, with Ruben Dias set to take his spot in the line-up ahead of either Nathan Ake or Manuel Akanji.

Guardiola could choose to take Rodri out of the starting XI for the first time this season, handing Kalvin Phillips a long-awaited full debut.

“Aymeric is back in training but is not ready,” said the coach on Friday.

“Kyle is getting better but I am not sure if tomorrow he will be ready. We will see in training this afternoon. [Phillips is] a little better.”

Another player yet to be rested by the City boss is Erling Haaland with Julian Alvarez, Bernardo Silva and Phil Foden all prepared to step up from the midweek bench.

Predicted Manchester City XI:

Ederson;

Stones, Dias, Ake, Cancelo;

De Bruyne, Rodri, Gundogan;

Silva, Haaland, Foden.
