Newcastle United Clinches Deal for Spanish Winger Antonio Cordero

Newcastle United has reportedly completed a deal to sign 18-year-old Spanish winger Antonio Cordero from Malaga.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Magpies have won the race for Cordero’s signature, beating off competition from top European clubs including Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Cordero’s Impressive Record

Cordero has made 53 first-team appearances for Malaga since his debut in 2023, scoring five goals and providing six assists in 32 second-tier matches this season.

The Spain Under-19 international’s talent and potential have caught the eye of several top clubs, but Newcastle’s persistence has paid off.

Newcastle’s Signing Strategy

The signing of Cordero is expected to bolster Newcastle’s attacking options, following the departure of Miguel Almiron to Atlanta United in January.

Assistant coach Jason Tindall confirmed that the club is scouting for top talent in Europe, saying, “I’m sure as soon as we have any other news, the club will be the first to hear about it.”

What’s Next for Cordero?

An announcement on Cordero’s arrival at Newcastle is expected soon, but it’s unclear whether he’ll be integrated into Eddie Howe’s first-team plans immediately.

With his talent and potential, Cordero could become a key player for the Magpies in the future.
