Max Allegri Talk Of Dusan Vlahovic & Cristiano Ronaldo Comparisons

Juventus Boss Max Allegri has responded to comparisons being made between Dusan Vlahovic and Cristiano Ronaldo after the Serbian forward’s electric start to life in Turin.

Vlahovic made the controversial move from Fiorentina to Juventus in Janaury for a reported £62.8m,

and has continued the form which earned him the transfer by scoring four goals for the club – taking his Serie A tally for the season to 20, having scoring 16 for the Viola.

The former fiorentina forward took the number seven jersey when he joined the club, a number previously worn by Cristiano Ronaldo.

That, along with his goalscoring form, has seen many begin to draw comparisons between Vlahovic and Ronaldo.

Allegri addressed this comparisons in an interview with DAZN.

I don’t think you can compare them, the previous [number] seven won the Ballon d’Or four times, whereas Vlahovic is at the beginning of his career.

A good game isn’t enough, you need immense mental strength and he is at the start of his journey.”

Allegri also took the time to praise Vlahovic’s ‘character’ and the fact that he’s been able to add something to the squad which they previously didn’t have.

He added:

“Vlahovic is an important player, he has character as well as quality and has the kind of characteristics we didn’t have in the squad.”

“You could tell straight away this lad has character, wants to win and is eager to learn.

He moved a lot more today, didn’t just stay central, and that was a big advantage for him and for Juventus.”

Vlahovic:

“I must thank my teammates and the coach for helping me so much over the last few days.

I too am trying to understand as quickly as possible how things work here. I am giving it my all.

“The most important thing for a striker is to score goals,

but I want to improve in my general play, shaking off defenders, helping the team as much as possible.

“The coach told me to stay calm, not feel anxious, and that it would all go well.”

Allegri himself also discussed Vlahovic‘s debut after the game and took the time to discuss the improvements the forward can make to his game:

Vlahovic had a couple of poor initial first touches at the start, which he needs to improve so it’ll be cleaner in his movement.

“He loves being in the battle, but he’s only 22, he doesn’t have that much experience.

“He needs to improve the way he shakes off defenders, including on his right foot.”

Dusan Vlahovic Agent Uses Four Words To Explain Arsenal Snub

Former Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic agent has used just four words to explain the striker turning his back on Arsenal.

Vlahovic also spoken openly and honestly about why he decided to sign for Juventus.

The Serbian international arrived in Turin on Friday morning to undergo a medical and rubberstamp his move from Fiorentina.

Juve have a agreed a €70m plus deal, with €5m add ons.

The 22-year-old, who was being chased hard by the Gunners, will earn €7m per season.

ESPN report that Arsenal are angry with the player’s representatives and believe their interest was used as a smokescreen by Vlahovic’s camp to get a move to Juventus.

It leaves the Gunners desperately hunting for a striker with Monday’s transfer deadline closing in.

Mikel Arteta is particularly light in attack after ostracising Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for off-the-field matters.

As such, a report on Saturday morning claims Arteta wil either make an emergency plan – or face a staggering £75m bill.

Ultimately, it was Arsenal’s lack of Champions League football which resulted in Vlahovic snubbing their interest.

That is a competition he is desperate to prove himself in, with the Old Lady facing a round-of-16 clash with Villarreal next month.

Meanwhile, the striker’s agent has issued a simple response when asked why he was joining the Old Lady.

He told reporters: “Juventus are always Juventus…”

“Juventus represents pride, tradition, family. Juventus are always there until the last minute, they never give up,” former Fiorentina striker claimed.

“The team always comes first. I am at the disposal of the coach and my teammates, who I will try to help in the best way possible.

“We always want more, and we want to improve in the future.

Today is my birthday, which is really wonderful, a special day for me.

“This is one of the happiest birthdays I’ve experienced so far.

I want to make Juventus proud. We will always fight for all goals, as they say, fino alle fine!”

Fiorentina, meanwhile, have acted fast to sign Vlahovic’s replacement in the form of Brazilian striker Arthur Cabral.

The FC Basel man was also being chased by West Ham – but he signs for La Viola for a fee of around €16m.

The move, confirmed by Fiorentina on Saturday morning, has seen Cabral sign a deal worth €1.7m per season in wages.
