Former Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal has warned Erik ten Hag that he should not join Manchester United because they are ‘not a football club’.
Manchester United have interviewed Ten Hag on their search for a new manager and are considering handing him the same spot in the Old Trafford dugout that Van Gaal called his own between 2014 and 2016.
Van Gaal’s time at United is not remembered particularly fondly by fans,
despite his success in the 2015/16 FA Cup final – his final game before he was abruptly sacked and replaced by Jose Mourinho.
Now at the helm of the Dutch national team, Van Gaal claimed that the taking the United job would not be in Ten Hag’s best interests.
