Tottenham’s Postecoglou Dilemma: £10m Decision Looms

Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy is reportedly weighing the cost of sacking manager Ange Postecoglou, with a potential £4m compensation package and £2m Europa League bonus adding to the club’s financial burden.

Postecoglou’s Future Uncertain

Despite leading Spurs to their first trophy in 17 years, Postecoglou’s future is uncertain due to the team’s disastrous Premier League campaign.

Levy committed to a four-year contract with Postecoglou in 2023, leaving two years remaining on the deal.

Potential Replacements

If Postecoglou is let go, Spurs may turn to Brentford’s Thomas Frank, who is contracted until 2027.

However, hiring Frank would require Tottenham to pay a significant severance fee, potentially pushing the total cost to £10m.

Other Options

Fulham’s Marco Silva is also reportedly admired by Spurs, but he’s expected to stay at Craven Cottage for at least another year.

With Postecoglou’s future hanging in the balance, the decision will ultimately depend on Levy’s vision for the club’s future.
