Real Madrid has confirmed that Trent Alexander-Arnold will wear the number 12 shirt after joining the club from Liverpool.
The England international’s contract with Liverpool was set to expire, but the Reds allowed him to leave early after Real Madrid agreed to pay a £10m fee.
Number 12 Shirt Significance
The number 12 shirt has previously been worn by Eduardo Camavinga and Real Madrid legend Marcelo.
Alexander-Arnold’s new shirt number is a nod to his Liverpool legacy, where he wore the number 66 shirt, as 6+6 equals 12.
Official Unveiling and Debut
Alexander-Arnold is set to be unveiled as a Real Madrid player at a presentation ceremony and could make his debut in the Club World Cup against Al-Hilal, wearing the name “Trent” on his shirt.
