Report: Antony Decides on Fenerbahce’s Interest

Antony reportedly signed for Manchester United and stayed at Old Trafford, despite interest from Fenerbahce.

The Brazilian has endured a difficult few seasons at United and has seen just one minute of football in the Red Devils’ opening three games of the 2024/25 campaign. Most of his performances last season came from the bench, with the winger scoring just one Premier League goal all season.

Antony, despite falling out of favor at Old Trafford, did not make the move before the end of the English summer transfer window, with manager Erik ten Hag seemingly blocking a late loan move for the winger.

Turkish clubs can still sign players until Friday and Fenerbahce have been tipped as a possible candidate for Antony. But according to ESPN, he would rather stay fighting for his place at United than join the Super Lig.

The report reveals that although Antony wants to play regularly, he would rather stay at Old Trafford than move to Fenerbahce.

The former Ajax star will have the chance to link up with Jose Mourinho if he chooses to move to Fenerbahce, who face United in the Europa League this autumn.

Red Devils boss Ten Hag is reluctant to let Antony go after Scott McTominay’s success and sent Jadon Sancho on loan to Chelsea at the end of the summer window. The reinstatement of Amad Diallo led to Antony starting XI from Ten Hag, with the young Ivorian filling in on the right wing.
