Chelsea XI vs Fulham: Team News Possible Lineup

Chelsea wil welcome Fulham to Stamford Bridge in the Premier League after the blues spent excess of £300 million in January transfer window.

Raheem Sterling, Reece James, Ben Chilwell and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are all back from the injury.

Mateo Kovacic, Edouard Mendy, N’Golo Kante, Christian Pulisic, Wesley Fofana, Armando Broja and Denis Zakaria as the remaining players still absent for the Premier League clash.

Joao Felix is still suspended after his red card in the reverse fixture, with this being the third and final game of that ban he has to serve.

Futhermore, the Blues may not have their new British transfer record Enzo Fernandez available due to issues relating to his paperwork and work permit after he joined on deadline day.

Mudryk could come into the side possibly to take the place of either Hakim Ziyech or Conor Gallagher, who both saw late transfers fall through on deadline day.

With 28 players available, Potter now has plenty of ingredients to arrest his side’s poor run of just one win across the whole of January.

Liverpool vs Chelsea XI: Team News Possible Lineup

Liverpool will be without Arthur, Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino and Virgil van Dijk, but Klopp is expecting Darwin Nunez to bounce back to first eleven.

Nunez’s return should see Cody Gakpo revert to a wide role as Fabio Carvalho makes way, while Kostas Tsimikas suffered a knock to the back at Molineux but was always expected to cede his place to Andrew Robertson.

Klopp has previous in throwing young players in against Chelsea, starting Harvey Elliott against the Blues at Anfield last season.

Elliott scored the winner against Wolves and could start once again, while impressive young midfielder Stefan Bajcetic is pushing to replace either Fabinho or Thiago in the engine room.

Chelsea new boy Mudryk will be in contention to make his Blues debut, and he could potentially replace Felix.

Chelsea Confirm Mykhaylo Mudryk s Shirt Number

Chelsea have officially announced the signing of Mykhailo Mudryk after successfully hijacking Arsenal’s deal for the Shakhtar Donetsk star.

Fulham XI vs Chelsea: Team News Possible Lineup

Chelsea’s injury list has hit double figures again, with none of Ben Chilwell, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Edouard Mendy, N’Golo Kante, Reece James, Armando Broja or Wesley Fofana ready to return against Fulham.

Christian Pulisic out for a “couple of months” and Raheem Sterling no closer to returning, the out-of-form summer addition should partner Kai Havertz in attack.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek is in training but still not fit enough to play after his ankle injury, while Ben Chilwell is slowly edging closer to a return from his hamstring injury.

Chelsea also remain without N’Golo Kante, Edouard Mendy, Reece James, Wesley Fofana and Armando Broja with a total of 10 players out of their west London derby match.

James is back out running on grass and Kante is doing individual training but they are not expected back this week with no precise timeframe given for their recovery.

However, Aubameyang returned from a back injury that kept him out of the 4-0 FA Cup third-round defeat to Manchester City on Sunday

and could be drafted in for his first start since the World Cup.

Felix will be hoping for his first minutes off the bench, should the Premier League confirm his eligibility for the game.

The Blues will likely pick an experienced side after winning just one of their last eight Premier League matches.

Chelsea Possible Lineup:

Kepa;

Azpilicueta, Thiago Silva, Koulibaly, Cucurella;

Kovacic, Mount, Jorginho;

Ziyech, Aubameyang, Havertz.

Todd Boehly Leaves His Role As Chelsea’s Interim Sporting Director

Todd Boehly will no longer act as Chelsea’s sporting director according to report.

Chelsea co-owner Boehly installed himself as ‘interim’ sporting director, Six months on and the Daily Telegraph report that Boehly has now relinquished control having successfully appointed several new directors to the board.

Christopher Vivell and Paul Winstanley have arrived from RB Leipzig and Brighton respectively, and will be joined by Joe Shields and Laurence Stewart in February once they’ve seen out their notice periods at Southampton and Monaco.

In Boehly’s brief time in charge, Chelsea underwent a highly expensive spending spree, splashing £278.4million on new players, more in a single transfer window than previous owner Roman Abramovich ever did.

However, very few, if any, of these signings have lived up to expectations, with the likes of Wesley Fofana, Marc Cucurella, Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang struggling to settle in at Stamford Bridge.

That has left the side languishing down in 10th in the table, 10 points off the top four,

while their humiliating 4-0 loss to Manchester City on Sunday means they are now out of both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.

This has all put significant pressure of manager Graham Potter but it is understood that he still has the backing of Boehly.

At the loss at the Etihad, Chelsea supporters chanted the names of both Tuchel and Abramovich as they expressed their displeasure at the club’s recent form.

Abramovich was forced to sell the club after 19 years at the helm following his homeland’s invasion of Ukraine,

which saw the his links to Russian president Vladimir Putin emerge.

Boehly, who fronted a consortium’s £4.25billion takeover, took it upon himself to fill in for Granovskaia but endured a tricky start to English football.

Chelsea Set To Retain Levi Colwill On A Long-Term Basis.

Chelsea are reportedly certain that Levi Colwill will be pulling on their jersey permanently in the not-so-distant future.

Colwill is yet to make a senior appearance for the Blues, despite being part of the family since the age of eight.

The centre-back starred on loan at Huddersfield Town during 2021-22, making 31 appearances

as the Terriers only missed out on promotion to the Premier League in the Championship playoff final.

Rather than spend his first full season in the Chelsea senior squad, Colwill was allowed to

join Brighton & Hove Albion on loan as part of a deal which saw Marc Cucurella move to Stamford Bridge.

Although the England Under-21 international endured a frustrating start to life at the Amex Stadium under now-Chelsea boss Graham Potter, he has since become a regular under Roberto de Zerbi.

Eight starts and two substitute outings have been made in all competitions,

seemingly increasingly the chances of Brighton pushing to sign the player on a permanent basis in the summer.

Potter hardly played the England youth international before taking over from Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea.

Yet, the fact the struggling manager brought Colwill to the Amex in the first-place hints that he would do the same in his current coaching position.

Manchester City reach the fourth round of the FA Cup with a thumping 4-0 victory over Chelsea at Etihad Stadium.

The visiting players warmed up in No. 9 shirts in tribute to the late, great Gianluca Vialli ahead of kick off but could not muster a performance to match the gesture.

Pep Guardiola’s home team dominated from the off and deservedly took the lead on 23 minutes when Mahrez curled home a majestic 25-yard free kick.

Julian Alvarez then made it two from the penalty spot on the half hour mark after VAR had intervened to alert the referee to a handball by Kai Havertz.

Chelsea’s shoulders clearly slumped after that and City all-but wrapped up victory eight minutes later when Phil Foden finished off a lovely, well-worked move.

Graham Potter brought on new signing David Datro Fofana for his debut at the break

and tinkered with his system but it did little to change the flow of the game as the hosts continued to dictate the tempo despite easing back into ‘game-management’ mode.

The Citizens then put the icing on the cake five minutes from time when Mahrez netted his second goal of the game from the spot to set up a fourth round tie at home to Oxford or Arsenal.

Next up, City visit Southampton in the EFL Cup on Wednesday before taking on neighbours

Man United at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday. Chelsea have a trip to Fulham in the league on Thursday
