Arsenal Secure Contract talk for Chido Obi-Martin, for his Standout Performer from Last Weekend’s.
Martin Created a buzz over the weekend by netting 10 goals during Arsenal Under-16s’ impressive 14-3 win against Liverpool.
The young striker had been earmarked for success well before his remarkable performance last Saturday. Reports suggest he finalized scholarship terms with Arsenal a year ago.
Obi-Martin is set to join the scholars for the 2024-25 season and become eligible to sign his inaugural professional contract upon turning 17 in November next year.
Securing players under scholarship terms is crucial for clubs as before that stage, they can depart for compensation.
Arsenal faced a tough battle this summer to retain striker Ethan Nwaneri, ultimately warding off Chelsea and Manchester City‘s interest to finalize scholarship terms.

At just 15 years old, Obi-Martin has already showcased his talent by playing for Arsenal at the U21 level and achieving a hat-trick for the U18s against Southampton in September.
Already standing at over 6ft tall, the striker has caught the eye for his size and pace – which is partly the reason why he is already being pushed to play with higher age groups.
The international break, coupled with the fact that the U17 World Cup is currently ongoing, meant there were less academy games than usual at the weekend,
so Obi-Martin turned out for Arsenal’s U16s and went viral on social media after scoring 10 times.
Arsenal will take on Brentford this Saturday before hosting Sevilla at the Emirates Stadium. Securing victories against Spanish sides will cement their position at the top of their group.
