Arsenal's Premier League Title Hopes Hanging by a Thread

Arsenal’s Premier League title aspirations will be all but extinguished if Liverpool emerge victorious against Manchester City on Sunday, according to Gunners legend Ray Parlour.

The Importance of Manchester City’s Result

Mikel Arteta’s side can move within five points of Liverpool with a win over West Ham United on Saturday, but Parlour stresses that Arsenal need Manchester City to do them a favor to keep their title hopes alive.

“Arsenal need Man City to get something out of the game on Sunday to keep the title race alive,” Parlour said.

A Tough Task Ahead for Arsenal

Even if Manchester City do Arsenal a favor, the Gunners still face a daunting task in their pursuit of Liverpool.

With tough fixtures against Nottingham Forest, Manchester United, Everton, Bournemouth, and Newcastle United still to come, Arsenal’s title hopes are hanging by a thread.

Liverpool’s Form and Fixture List

Liverpool, on the other hand, have a relatively easier run-in, although they do face a tricky test against Manchester City on Sunday.

The Reds have dropped points in two of their last three Premier League games, but Parlour believes that an eight-point gap with a game in hand will be too much for Arsenal to overcome.

Injury Concerns for Arsenal

To make matters worse for Arsenal, the Gunners are still without key players Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz, and Bukayo Saka.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have a fully fit Mohamed Salah leading their attack.
