Atletico Madrid Sets £50m+ Asking Price For Joao Felix Amid Chelsea Interest

Joao Felix

Chelsea’s pursuit of Joao Felix has hit a roadblock, as Atletico Madrid has rejected their initial offer of £38m, according to Spanish journalist Ruben Uria.

Despite Felix being surplus to requirements in the Spanish capital, Atletico Madrid is holding out for a significantly higher fee, exceeding £50m.

This comes after Samu Omorodion‘s surprise decision to reject Chelsea, throwing Conor Gallagher‘s proposed switch to Atletico Madrid into uncertainty.

Felix, on the other hand, is eager to return to Stamford Bridge, where he spent six months on loan in 2023.

Chelsea’s need for a striker has become more pressing, and Felix’s desire to join the Blues has created a complex situation.

Atletico Madrid’s insistence on a higher transfer fee has forced Chelsea to re-evaluate their offer, leaving the club with a difficult decision to make.

With the transfer window ticking away, Chelsea must decide whether to meet Atletico Madrid‘s asking price or explore alternative options to bolster their attacking lineup.

Felix’s return to Chelsea would undoubtedly be a significant coup, but the club must weigh the costs against the benefits of signing the Portuguese forward.
