Chelsea are reportedly prepared to pay over the odds to secure the services of Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen.
The 19-year-old has been in impressive form for the Cherries, making 18 starts and five substitute outings in the Premier League since his move from Juventus.
Chelsea’s Pursuit of Huijsen
According to Cadena SER, Chelsea are willing to commit more funds to signing Huijsen than Real Madrid, who are also interested in the Spain international.
Huijsen’s contract includes a £50m release clause, but Chelsea may be prepared to offer a more lucrative contract to tempt him to Stamford Bridge.
Real Madrid’s Interest
Despite Chelsea’s willingness to pay a premium, Real Madrid remain the clear favourites to sign Huijsen.

The Spanish giants have already welcomed Huijsen’s father to their training facilities, emphasizing their priority on securing a deal for the youngster.
Bournemouth’s Challenge
Bournemouth face a challenge in retaining their star players, including Huijsen, who has been linked with a move away from the Vitality Stadium.
Justin Kluivert, Huijsen’s teammate, recently claimed that “everyone knows” the centre-back will not be at Bournemouth for the 2025-26 season.
Chelsea’s Defensive Plans
Chelsea are expected to shuffle their defensive options in the summer, with money likely to be raised through the sales of Axel Disasi and Trevoh Chalobah.
Enzo Maresca’s long-term preference is to use Wesley Fofana and Levi Colwill as his central defensive pairing, which may not support Chelsea’s pursuit of Huijsen.
