Chelsea and Torino are reportedly working towards a compromise on the transfer fee for 21-year-old midfielder Cesare Casadei.
The Italy Under-21 international has struggled to break into Chelsea’s first team, featuring in just 71 minutes of Premier League football since his arrival in 2022.
Casadei’s Asking Price and Buy-Back Clause
According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea initially valued Casadei at €20m (£16.6m), which is the fee they would have paid Inter Milan if all add-ons had been activated.
However, Torino is currently offering €12m (£9.96m) plus a percentage of any future sale. Chelsea is also seeking a buy-back clause, which Torino is hesitant to agree to.

Casadei’s Desire for a Transfer and Potential Game Time Increase
Casadei has reportedly given the green light to a transfer to Torino and is eager to complete the move as soon as possible.
If the transfer goes through, Casadei may see an increase in game time, potentially playing alongside Samuele Di Ricci and another player in Paolo Vanoli’s five-player midfield.
Chelsea’s Potential Next Steps
If Chelsea decides to sell Casadei, they may consider recalling Andrey Santos from his loan stint at Strasbourg, particularly given Romeo Lavia’s ongoing fitness issues.
The Blues will reportedly reconvene with Torino on Tuesday or Wednesday to discuss the transfer fee and add-ons.
