Chelsea have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Sporting Lisbon midfielder Dario Essugo in a deal worth £18.5m, following the successful capture of Geovany Quenda.
The 20-year-old Essugo has already completed his medical and is set to join the Blues on a seven-year contract until 2032.

The midfielder will likely make his debut for the Blues in the tournament, marking the start of his Stamford Bridge career.
Essugo’s Playing Style and Role at Chelsea
Essugo is a ball-winning number six who is expected to learn from Moises Caicedo, one of the Premier League’s most impressive midfielders this season.
The 20-year-old’s arrival will likely push Lesley Ugochukwu down the pecking order, potentially paving the way for a summer sale.
Chelsea’s Transfer Business
The signing of Essugo follows Chelsea’s successful capture of Geovany Quenda, who will join the Blues in 2026 after spending the 2025-26 season on loan at Sporting Lisbon.
The Blues have been busy in the transfer market, and Essugo’s arrival is expected to strengthen their midfield options.
