Fulham Break Club Record With £34m Smith Rowe Signing

Smith set to join Fulham

Arsenal and Fulham reach club-record agreement for Emile Smith Rowe

Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe is set to join Fulham in a deal worth £34 million, a new club record for the Cottagers.

The transfer fee will be paid in installments, with £27 million spread across four years and an additional £7 million in potential add-ons.

After attracting interest from Crystal Palace, Smith Rowe will now undergo a medical with Fulham and finalize personal terms before linking up with his new teammates on their pre-season tour in Portugal.

Smith Rowe was a key part of the Arsenal team in the early part of Mikel Arteta’s reign, but he has slipped down the pecking order.

Injuries have hit him hard recently but, even when fit during the second half of last season, he struggled for action.

Smith Rowe played just 346 minutes in the Premier League last season and has not scored for Arsenal since April 2022.

The 24-year-old has been part of Arsenal’s squad out in the US on tour, but he has not played for them.

He was an unused substitute during the draw with Bournemouth last Thursday and was left out of the squad for the win over Manchester United at the weekend.

Arteta confirmed that was done as there were “things happening in the background” and Smith Rowe is now set to leave Arsenal.

Smith Rowe will hope that by leaving Arsenal he can kickstart his career after a difficult few years at Emirates Stadium.
