Filip Jorgensen Reveals why join Chelsea

Chelsea’s new signing Filip Jorgensen said he’s looking to emulate Petr Cech’s success.

Filip Jorgensen, who recently joined Chelsea from Villarreal in a £20.7million deal, has expressed his admiration for Blues legend Petr Cech and hopes to draw inspiration from his achievements.

The 22-year-old Danish goalkeeper has already begun training with his new teammates on their pre-season tour in the USA, after completing his medical tests.

With Cech’s legacy as a benchmark, Jorgensen is eager to make his mark and contribute to the team’s success.

Blues stalwart Cech won four Premier League titles, four FA Cups, the Champions League and the Europa League in a glittering 11 years at Chelsea.

Jorgensen has now revealed he grew up watching Cech and is excited for the chance to follow in the former Czech Republic star’s footsteps.

Jorgensen said:

“I always liked watching Chelsea because I watched a lot of Petr Cech growing up, so Chelsea were one of my favourite teams to follow.”

“I am very happy with how the last 12 months have panned out, I am very confident in myself and I know what qualities I have.

“Luckily I had the chance to show myself on the biggest stage in Spain and now I am very happy to have the chance to do that at one of the biggest clubs in the world.

Jorgensen will have the opportunity to make his debut when Chelsea face Mexican side Club America in Atlanta on Wednesday night, as the Blues continue their US tour.
