The forward is second on the list, behind Ivan Zamorano, who scored 37 goals in 45 matches during his first season for Real Madrid in 1992-93.
Chasing Down Zamorano’s Record
Mbappe is on course to break Zamorano’s record, with Ancelotti praising his adaptation to the team.
“He is much more active and involved in the game. He has adapted very well and is making a difference,” the manager said.
Mbappe’s Thoughts on Equalling Ronaldo’s Record
Mbappe said equalling Ronaldo’s record was “very special,” but emphasized the importance of winning trophies.
“The most important things are the things you do with the team, but to have the same number of goals as Cristiano is always good,” he said.
Real Madrid’s Focus Shifts to Copa del Rey
Ancelotti’s team will now focus on the Copa del Rey, preparing to face Real Sociedad in the second leg of their semi-final.
The manager praised his team’s resilience, saying, “We suffered too much, but we had the intensity because we came from behind and in the end we won.”
