Liverpool are reportedly nearing a January deal for Nuremberg’s 19-year-old attacking sensation Stefanos Tzimas, who could potentially replace misfiring Darwin Nunez at Anfield.
Tzimas has been in impressive form for Nuremberg, contributing to 10 goals in 15 league appearances, and has caught the attention of several top clubs, including Liverpool.
Reds Face Competition from Top European Clubs
According to Anfield Watch, Liverpool have held a meeting with Tzimas’ representative and are advancing in their efforts to bring the Greek youngster to Merseyside.

However, they face competition from Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Newcastle United, and Brighton & Hove Albion, who are also keeping tabs on Tzimas.
Nuremberg’s Loan Agreement Complicates Deal
The deal is complicated by Nuremberg’s loan agreement with PAOK, which includes an obligation to purchase Tzimas for £15m at the end of the campaign.
However, all three clubs have discussed the matter, and Liverpool believe that a fee of £25m would be sufficient to secure the 19-year-old’s services.
Tzimas Could Replace Nunez at Liverpool
Liverpool’s interest in Tzimas comes at a time when Darwin Nunez is struggling for form and confidence, with only four goals and four assists in 26 appearances this season.
The Reds are reportedly ready to cut ties with the Uruguayan international, who they signed for a club-record £85m deal in 2022.
