Erling Haaland is expected to spearhead Manchester City’s attack against newly-promoted Bournemouth this afternoon, but Pep Guardiola could make changes elsewhere.
Phil Foden and Jack Grealish got the nod against West Ham on opening weekend and were effective without particularly standing out.
Riyad Mahrez, who was afforded just one minute of action at the London Stadium, will be chomping at the bit for his first Premier League start since signing a new contract.
Elsewhere, Bernardo Silva – who is a target for Barcelona – could come in after also starting
on the bench against the Hammers where he eventually replaced Ilkay Gundogan. Kalvin Phillips is not available, while Cole Palmer is a doubt.
Guardiola has an almost fully fit squad, with Aymeric Laporte his only other absentee.
The defender is nursing the same injury which ruled him out of the pre-season tour of America, and is not expected back until September.
Man City predicted XI (4-3-3):
Ederson;
Walker, Dias, Stones, Cancelo;
Gundogan, Rodri, De Bruyne;
Foden, Haaland, Mahrez
Man City vs Bournemouth prediction
You just can’t see past City here. Bournemouth did well against a poor Aston Villa team last time out but this is an entirely different beast.
City should pick off the Cherries’ low block and this could be done and dusted before half-time.
