Matthijs de Ligt – 6/10
Matthijs de Ligt was a good man for United on Sunday. For his first start since arriving at Bayern Munich, the Dutchman was quick enough on several occasions to thwart Liverpool’s attackers and knew how to manage the danger during the first transition.
The former Ajax and Juventus defender was testing long before United got the first goal, not paying attention to the back post as Diaz was preparing to head home.
De Ligt has shown that he has the qualities needed to succeed in the Premier League, but this goal and his team’s next move is a stark warning that any lapse in concentration will happen. things without mercy, especially from the top teams like Liverpool.

Bruno Fernandes – 6/10
There have been previous games against Liverpool where Bruno Fernandes has clearly thrown in the towel. A 7-0 win over a year ago comes to mind. But at the moment, the Portuguese midfielder cannot die for these criticisms. Despite not being creative or exciting, the 29-year-old showed good vision of the game time and time again when trying to put United’s attacking abilities into dangerous situations. His team-mates seem a little unsure now, but Fernandes can pull them out of their jams if he continues to make excellent passes.

Casemiro – 2/10
United dominated the game until Casemiro lost his composure 10 minutes before the break.
The warning signs were there, with the Red Devils unable to find any pace in midfield, but the Brazilian let his side fall behind by losing the ball before Salah went past Diaz. The Colombian cleared the ball for him before scoring his second goal.
Casemiro has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford in the summer and competition for his place will increase now that Manuel Ugarte has arrived. But if he continues to do terrible things like these, there will be demand for his signature as soon as he leaves United.

Lisandro Martinez – 4/10
There were two yellow cards in contention for the non-essential cards of the game, but Lisandro Martinez’s yellow card for a tackle on Dominik Szoboszlai in the back after the ball went long was the one with the best chance of winning the award.
The Argentina international was also slow as Diaz raced into the box before scoring his second goal, and took a cautious approach before the Colombian shot over. When Martinez combines his tenacity with his intelligence, there is no doubt that he is one of the most efficient central defenders in the Premier League, but all that was missing on Sunday.
Kobbie Mainoo – 4/10
Kobbie Mainoo showed last season that he can deliver in this game. The England international will have little effort, but it is clear that he struggled to withstand Liverpool’s opposition. It was Alexis Mac Allister who quickly stopped the youngster before Salah struck. Mainoo was stymied by his chaotic play with Casemiro before Toby Collyer came on, but his ease and beauty on the ball didn’t show for Liverpool.
