Manchester City's Rodri Takes Major Step Forward in Recovery, Pep Guardiola Provides Injury Update

Manchester City midfielder Rodri has made significant progress in his recovery from an ACL injury, sparking hopes of a potential return before the end of the Premier League season.

Rodri, who has been sidelined for almost six months, was seen taking part in light practice drills in a training video released by Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola, Manchester City’s head coach, has refused to rule out the possibility of Rodri returning to action before the season concludes.

While emphasizing the need for caution in Rodri’s recovery, Guardiola hinted that the Spanish midfielder could make a comeback in May.

“The fans must know that they are not the only ones excited. [Rodri’s] been out five or six months… one step at a time. We don’t have to make stupid decisions,” Guardiola said.

Potential Return Dates

Rodri’s return could potentially coincide with Manchester City’s FA Cup quarter-final match against Bournemouth or their penultimate Premier League game against the same opponents.

Alternatively, he might make his comeback in the final Premier League match of the season against Fulham.

However, if Manchester City reaches the FA Cup final, Rodri might be available for selection.

Impact on Manchester City’s Season

Rodri’s injury has significantly impacted Manchester City’s season, with the team struggling to maintain their grip on the Premier League title.

However, with Rodri’s potential return on the horizon, Manchester City’s chances of securing a top-four finish and winning the FA Cup have received a significant boost.
