Manchester City are reportedly “seriously hopeful” of signing Aston Villa playmaker Morgan Rogers as Kevin De Bruyne’s replacement, according to a recent report.

Aston Villa would require a “mammoth offer” to consider selling Rogers, who extended his contract until 2030 in November.
The report adds that Liverpool are also pursuing a deal for the former Middlesbrough man, while unspecified teams from abroad have taken notice of his rapid rise.

While Rogers is a top target, Florian Wirtz, Bayer Leverkusen’s 10, is widely believed to be Manchester City’s number one pick to replace De Bruyne.
Other options include Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze and Southampton’s Tyler Dibling, although the latter’s potential transfer fee could be as high as £100m.
Alternatively, Guardiola could give young Claudio Echeverri a chance next season.
