Manchester United are reportedly growing confident that they can agree a deal to sign Lecce defender Patrick Dorgu before the January transfer window shuts.
The Red Devils have identified Dorgu as a key target to strengthen their left wing-back position.
Dorgu’s Impressive Form in Serie A
The 21-year-old Denmark international has impressed United with his performances for Lecce this season, starting all 21 of his Serie A appearances and contributing with three goals and one assist.
United believe Dorgu’s versatility, being able to play on both the left and right flank, would be a valuable asset to their squad.
Negotiations Underway with Lecce
According to Sky Sports News, United and Lecce are currently discussing a fee in the region of £30m, with the two clubs negotiating the structure of the potential transfer.

While positive discussions were held on Monday, United are still willing to walk away if they are not satisfied with the proposed deal.
Alternative Option: Alvaro Fernandez Carreras
If United fail to agree a deal for Dorgu, they will consider signing their former player, Alvaro Fernandez Carreras, from Benfica.
United have the option to trigger the £15m buyback option for the 21-year-old Spaniard, with the clause active until January 2026.
