Mauricio Pochettino Eyes Tottenham Return Amid Ange Postecoglou Uncertainty

Mauricio Pochettino has expressed his desire to return to Tottenham Hotspur in the future, amid speculation surrounding the uncertain future of current manager Ange Postecoglou.

Pochettino’s USA Stint

The 53-year-old Argentine is currently the head coach of the United States national team, a position he took up in September last year.

Pochettino is under contract with the USA until after the 2026 World Cup, which the country will co-host.

Pochettino’s Tottenham Past

Pochettino spent over five years in charge of Tottenham, leading the team to three consecutive top-three finishes in the Premier League and their first-ever Champions League final in 2019.

Despite his success, Pochettino was relieved of his duties as Spurs manager later that year.

Desire to Return to Tottenham

In a recent interview, Pochettino revealed that he would like to return to Tottenham one day.

“I would like one day to come back to Tottenham,” he said. “I am in the USA, I am not going to no, I’m not going to talk about that, but what I said then still after six years or five years, I still feel in my heart that, yes, I would like one day to come back.”

Pochettino’s Relationship with Daniel Levy

Pochettino maintains a “very good relationship” with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy, despite being sacked by the club in 2019.

“He is always there and he’s going to be there,” Pochettino said. “It’s another thing to take professional decisions.”
