Real Madrid centre-back Raul Asencio has reportedly signed a new long-term contract at the Bernabeu, committing his future to the club until 2029.
However, this development is unlikely to impact Real Madrid’s summer transfer plans, with the club still expected to pursue a new centre-back.
Asencio’s Rise to Prominence
Asencio, 22, has been a revelation for Real Madrid this season, making 30 appearances and establishing himself as a key player in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.

Real Madrid’s Centre-Back Targets
Despite Asencio’s new deal, Real Madrid remain keen to sign a new centre-back this summer.
Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen is reportedly their top target, with the 19-year-old boasting a £50m release clause in his contract.
Huijsen is said to favour a move to Real Madrid, and a deal could be completed early in the summer transfer window.
Other Transfer Targets to
Arsenal’s William Saliba and Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite have also been linked with moves to Real Madrid, but both players are likely to prove too expensive.
Saliba’s price tag is expected to be high, while Everton are reportedly seeking upwards of £60m for Branthwaite.
