Spain vs France the outcome was in favor of home side.

Spain rallied to a thrilling 2-1 victory over France in Tuesday’s Euro 2024 semifinal, with Lamine Yamal‘s sensational goal and Dani Olmo‘s clinical finish securing a spot in the championship final in Berlin on Sunday.

Spain have settled immediately into a confident possession game.

First, Yamal tries to tease the French defence down the right before play is switched to the left for Williams and Ruiz to double up and tee a dangerous cross into the middle that ends up evading everyone.

Yamal gets the ball on the right and cuts to his left.

He puts a curling ball into the box and Ruiz is there. He jumps too early and heads the ball over the bar from close range.

Kolo Muani plays a ball through for Mbappe. Jesus Navas steps ahead of him and clears it away from the French captain.

GOAL…. France have scored a goal from open play!

The ball is fed out to Kylian Mbappe on the left, whose sharp turn of speed brings him space ahead of Jesus Navas.

The French captain clips over a delightful cross that takes out Aymeric Laporte and Marc Cucurella, and it’s a straightforward job for Randal Kolo Muani to head in past a static Unai Simon.

Williams on the right. He plays a cross to Ruiz inside the box, who flicks the ball into the middle of goal.

Morata is there but he is held off well by the French defence.

Mbappe gets the ball on the right and cuts into the penalty box. He takes a shot but it is blocked buy Nacho. France is knocking on the door again and again.

Goal… Absolutely sensational from 16-year-old Lamine Yamal!

The tricky teenager brings La Roja level in style and with it sets a new record at the European Championship.

There looks little danger when he picks up possession after a challenge on Dani Olmo.

Olmo scores!! Navas gets the ball on the right wing and puts in a cross.

Saliba heads it away only as far as Olma who does well to take it past Tchouameni and take a shot which bounces off Kounde into the net.

However, Olmo’s initial shot was on target which is why he is awarded the goal.

There were just four minutes and nine seconds between Spain’s equaliser and Dani Olmo‘s strike to put them 2-1 up.

Saliba tries to find Dembele on the right with a ball over the top.

Cucurella cuts off the pass with a header and forces a handball from Kounde who was advancing forward.

Yamal is brought down near the touchline by Theo Hernandez. The Spanish bench and De la Fuente are not happy with the challenge.

That’s a late one on Yamal by Hernandez.

The full-back catches the teenager on the top of the boot right by the near touchline, drawing an angry response from the Spain dugout.

Referee Slavko Vincic opts to keep his cards in his pocket on this occasion.

Fabian Ruiz hasn’t got his eye in yet as his latest shot at goal is blocked.

Meanwhile, Dembele is doing his best at the other end to supply Mbappe and Kolo Muani with a series of crosses.

Freekick comes in from the left for France.

Dembele’s cross is cleared away by the Spanish defence.

Nacho goes down in the middle of the pitch after being clipped on his ankles by Kolo Muani. That is the last action of the half as the referee blows the whistle for full time.

Drama straight at the start of the second half!

A pass down the left draws Spain winger Williams into a footrace with France goalkeeper Maignan while those watching hold their breath.

The Spaniard actually gets to the ball first on the touchline, but a brilliant lunge from the stopper blocks the ball with his leg and allows him to clear downfield.

Had Maignan not made that then France would have likely found themselves 3-1 behind.

Spain is enjoying a good spell of possession.

Cucurella gets the ball on the left wing and plays a cross into the six-yard area. Saliba gets to the ball ahead of Morata and clears it away.

Aurelien Tchouameni dives in on Alvaro Morata, leaving the Spain captain in a crumpled heap in the middle of the pitch.

It brings a second yellow card of the match, and a welcome reminder to those watching that Morata is playing.

France should be level! For the second time this half, a corner has the Spain defence in disarray, allowing an opponent at free header at goal.

This time the delivery comes from the left and is met at the far post by Upamecano, who nods down, up and wide from eight yards out.
