West Ham’s Pursuit Of Mazraoui Ends In Disappointment

West ham Mazraui bid collapse

West Ham’s bid for Noussair Mazraoui falls through

Despite agreeing a £16million fee with Bayern Munich for the Moroccan full-back, West Ham‘s move for Noussair Mazraoui has unexpectedly collapsed.

The Hammers had been seeking a new right-back this summer, with Manchester United‘s Aaron Wan-Bissaka also on their radar.

Although a deal for Mazraoui was agreed in principle, the transfer has now fallen through, leaving West Ham to explore alternative options.

Man United could now move for Mazraoui, who previously worked under Erik ten Hag at Ajax, but only if they are able to find a buyer for Wan-Bissaka, who has just a year left on his contract at Old Trafford.

It is another frustrating transfer window tale for Julen Lopetegui and West Ham, who also agreed a loan deal wth Nice for Jean-Clair Todibo, only for the player to show reluctance.

A bid for N’Golo Kante was also rejected by Al-Ittihad.

Lopetegui will now go back to the drawing board in search of a new right-back, thought it remains to be seen if Wan-Bissaka remains a target. Southampton’s Kyle Walker-Peters has also been linked.

West Ham United will face Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday morning as part of their preseason preparations.
