Real Madrid Overcomes San Sebastián Storm to Secure 2-0 Victory Against Real Sociedad

Vinicius is one of the targets.
Real Madrid scored two goals on Saturday night to end Real Sociedad’s La Liga campaign.

Los Blancos’ unbeaten start to the 2024/25 season will remain a certainty even if they are under pressure in San Sebastian.

The hosts hit the post less than three times and had no chance of an exciting night in the Basque Country.

Madrid’s first chance came when Kylian Mbappe was again beaten in the box and let fly but goalkeeper Alex Ramero denied it.

Madrid’s injury problems continued when Brahim Diaz was sent off in the first half with a muscle problem. The air seemed to be taken out of the visitors’ moments when Sociedad started to attack. La Real hit the post every time Rimiro defended to deny Antonio Rudiger – first Luka Sucic hit the post, then Sraldo Becker hit the post.
Almost out of the blocks for the second half, the Madrid stick came to the rescue for the third time. Sucic was also the dark side.

Just before the hour, Arda Guler’s shot was blocked by Sergio Gomez’s hand, giving Real Madrid a penalty. Vinicius Jr. came forward and took the lead of the warriors.

Soon after, Madrid were awarded their second penalty after a VAR review, when Vinicius went under a late challenge from John Aramboro. This time Mbappe was awarded a goal from 12 yards and he made no mistake.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men were able to win from there and get back in front of the defending Champions League champions at home to Stuttgart on Sunday. Meanwhile, Sociedad return to La Liga action at Real Mallorca the same evening.
