Aston Villa head coach Unai Emery has hinted that Louie Barry could remain at the club for the rest of the season, despite interest from several Championship clubs.
The 21-year-old attacker has impressed during his loan spell at Stockport County, scoring 15 goals and providing three assists in 23 League One outings.
Emery’s Plans for Barry
Emery has suggested that he is still considering how to handle Barry’s future, with the possibility of the youngster staying at Villa Park.

However, the Villa boss is aware that if Barry makes a first-team appearance for the club, he will be unable to return to Stockport on loan due to FIFA regulations.
Championship Clubs Circling
Leeds United and Middlesbrough are among the Championship clubs reportedly interested in signing Barry, but Emery’s decision will likely depend on the club’s ability to offer regular starts.
Villa are expected to prioritize Barry’s development over sending him to the highest-profile club.
Barry’s Future Uncertain
The uncertainty surrounding Barry’s future may see him left out of Villa’s FA Cup third-round tie against West Ham United on Friday night.
However, Emery’s comments suggest that the youngster still has a role to play at Villa Park. As quoted by the Birmingham Mail, Emery said: “He trained with us and we are going to make a plan with him, an overall plan. I think he is a very good player who is progressing very well.”
