Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Flamengo defender Wesley, as the club continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the summer transfer window.
This move would complement the expected arrival of Sporting Lisbon teenager Geovany Quenda, who is set to join the Red Devils in a £50m deal.
Quenda’s Arrival and Wesley’s Potential Impact
Quenda, 17, played as a right-sided wing-back under Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim at Sporting, and is expected to occupy a similar role at Old Trafford.

However, with Wesley also on the club’s radar, it appears that Manchester United are keen to provide Quenda with competition and support in the right-sided wing-back position.
Transfer Speculation and Potential Departures
According to reports, Zenit St Petersburg have already made an offer of €30m (£24.9m) for Wesley’s services, but Manchester United are believed to be confident in their chances of securing the 21-year-old’s signature.
If Wesley does arrive at Old Trafford, it could spell the end of Diogo Dalot’s tenure at the club, with Real Madrid and Barcelona reportedly interested in the Portugal international.
Squad Overhaul Expected This Summer
With Manchester United on course for their lowest-ever finish in the Premier League, a significant squad overhaul is expected this summer.
The club will need to make some tough decisions, including potentially moving on players like Dalot, to accommodate new signings and balance the books.
Wesley’s Profile and Potential Fit
Wesley has been with Flamengo since 2021, making 110 appearances for the club and scoring twice while registering three assists.
Although he is primarily a right-back, Manchester United scouts allegedly believe that he has the potential to operate as a wing-back, providing additional width and attacking threat to the team.
