Manchester United have been handed a glimmer of hope in their pursuit of Mathys Tel, with the on-loan Tottenham Hotspur attacker reportedly still open to joining the Red Devils at the end of the season.
Tel’s Tottenham Loan and Future Options
Tel, 19, joined Tottenham on loan from Bayern Munich in January, with the North London club holding an option to buy for £45m.

However, according to Christian Falk, Tel remains interested in joining Manchester United, who will need to fork out £50m to hijack Tottenham’s proposed permanent move.
Tel’s Potential Role at Manchester United
With Marcus Rashford expected to have played his last game for Manchester United, Tel could be the perfect replacement.
The French youngster is comfortable playing on the left-hand side, where he has showcased his intelligent movement and ability to generate numerous shots.
Additionally, Tel may be required to shoulder more of the attacking burden in the number nine spot, given Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee’s modest goal tally this season.
Tottenham’s Advantage in the Transfer Pursuit
Tottenham currently hold the upper hand in the transfer pursuit, with their buy option giving them control over Tel’s future.
However, Manchester United’s reported willingness to pay £50m could tempt Bayern Munich to sell, potentially sparking a transfer tug-of-war between the two Premier League clubs.
