Chelsea’s 19-year-old forward Deivid Washington is reportedly on the verge of completing a loan move to Santos, where he will join forces with Brazilian superstar Neymar.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Washington is set to undergo a medical with Santos in the coming days, paving the way for a temporary switch to the Brazilian giants.
The move is seen as crucial for Washington’s development, with Chelsea giving the green light for the teenager to leave on loan.
Washington’s Chelsea Career So Far
Washington joined Chelsea from Santos in a £13.3m deal in the summer of 2023 but has struggled to break into the first team.
He has made just three senior appearances for the Blues, with his last outing coming in the FA Cup under Mauricio Pochettino last season.

Chelsea’s Attacking Options
Washington’s departure will leave Chelsea with a depleted attacking corps, particularly with Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu currently sidelined through injury.
Christopher Nkunku has struggled to adapt to life in England, while Mykhaylo Mudryk is serving a provisional ban after failing a doping test.
Summer Transfer Plans
Chelsea is expected to prioritize signing a new centre-forward in the summer transfer window, with Victor Osimhen, Viktor Gyokeres, Benjamin Sesko, and Alexander Isak reportedly on the club’s radar.
In the meantime, Chelsea has reportedly made a decision on the future of head coach Enzo Maresca following Friday’s 3-0 defeat to Brighton.
