Barcelona Coach Hansi Flick Plays Down Neymar Return Rumors Amid Santos Resurgence

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has distanced himself from speculation surrounding a potential return to the club for Neymar, insisting that his focus remains on the current season.

Neymar, who is currently on loan at Santos, has been in impressive form, scoring three goals and providing three assists in seven appearances, sparking rumors of a summer return to Barcelona.

“It’s not my job. I’m very focused on this team and the season. You have to be focused on the competition.

The rest is the job of other people at the club, not mine,” Flick told reporters.

Neymar’s Santos Revival

Neymar’s resurgence at Santos has reignited hopes of a return to Barcelona, where he previously spent four successful seasons between 2013 and 2017.

The 33-year-old’s contract at Santos expires at the end of June, and his agent Pini Zahavi is reportedly in talks with Barcelona president Joan Laporta over a potential return.

A Return to Barcelona on the Cards?

While Flick has played down the speculation, a return to Barcelona remains a serious possibility for Neymar.

The Brazilian forward would be available on a free transfer, and it is understood that he will not command huge wages.

A return to Barcelona would also make sense from a business perspective, with the club likely to generate significant revenue from shirt sales and Neymar’s marketability.
