Manchester City are reportedly preparing to bid farewell to midfielder Mateo Kovacic in the summer transfer window, with the Croatian’s exit set to pave the way for the arrival of Atalanta BC star Ederson.
Kovacic’s Departure
According to TEAMtalk, Man City have “cleared the way” for Kovacic’s departure, with the club open to selling the 30-year-old as part of their squad restructuring plans.
The Citizens are expected to demand a fee in the region of £25.2m (€30m) for the former Real Madrid player, who has attracted interest from Atletico Madrid.
Ederson: The Ideal Replacement
Man City have identified Ederson as their “ideal replacement” for Kovacic, with the Brazilian midfielder establishing himself as a key player for Atalanta BC.

The 25-year-old has played 131 times for Atalanta in all competitions since joining the club in 2022 and has just over two years left on his contract.
Man City will face competition from Manchester United and Liverpool for Ederson’s signature, but the Citizens are determined to push ahead with a deal.
