Arsenal Midfielder Jorginho in Talks with Palmeiras Over January Transfer

Arsenal midfielder Jorginho is reportedly in discussions with Brazilian giants Palmeiras over a potential January transfer.

The 33-year-old Italy international has entered the final six months of his contract with Arsenal, and the club may lose him on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Jorginho’s Arsenal Future Uncertain

Jorginho has been a bit-part player for Mikel Arteta’s side this season, making 17 appearances across all competitions but only starting six matches in the Premier League.

With his contract expiring soon, Arsenal must decide whether to activate their 12-month option or allow him to leave.

Palmeiras Offer Jorginho a New Challenge

According to ESPN, Jorginho’s agents have been holding talks with Palmeiras over a potential January deal.

The Brazilian club is one of two teams in the country that Jorginho would consider representing, alongside Fluminense.

A move to Palmeiras would give Jorginho the opportunity to play in the 2025 Club World Cup, where they will face Al Ahly, Porto, and Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami in the group stage.

Should Arsenal Entertain Jorginho Bids?

While Jorginho may not be a regular starter for Arsenal, he still possesses exceptional vision and control in midfield.

With Thomas Partey’s injury history and contract expiring in June, Jorginho could have a pivotal role to play for the Gunners. Therefore, it’s argued that Arsenal should not consider selling Jorginho this month.
