Arsenal have reportedly agreed to sign 15-year-old St Johnstone sensation Callan Hamill in a six-figure deal, marking their first summer signing.
Hamill’s Impressive Rise
The young centre-back has already made a name for himself, featuring twice for Scotland’s Under-17 side in European qualifiers against Lithuania and the Republic of Ireland.
Hamill’s versatility has seen him play in various positions, including right-wing and midfield roles.
Beating Celtic and Rangers to the Punch
Hamill had reportedly snubbed advances from Celtic and Rangers last summer, opting to stay with St Johnstone.

However, the Scottish club will now receive at least £100,000 in cross-border compensation.
Arsenal’s Youth Revolution
The signing of Hamill is the latest move in Arsenal’s youth-focused strategy. The Gunners have already seen success with 17-year-old Ethan Nwaneri and 18-year-old Myles Lewis-Skelly breaking into the first team.
What’s Next for Arsenal?
While Hamill will likely continue developing with the Under-18s and Under-21s, Arsenal will turn their focus to the summer transfer window.
The Gunners are reportedly closing in on a £51m deal for Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi and are also in the market for a new striker, goalkeeper, and wide option.
A Plan to Beat Liverpool to Alexander Isak?
Arsenal are rumoured to have formulated a plan to beat Liverpool to the signing of Newcastle United marksman Alexander Isak.
However, for now, Mikel Merino might act as an emergency centre-forward for Saturday’s London derby with West Ham United.
