Brighton & Hove Albion have reportedly conceded defeat in their late bid to sign Sunderland forward Tommy Watson.
Despite announcing the signing of Nuremberg full-back Stefanos Tzimas earlier in the day, the Seagulls were unable to finalize a deal for Watson before the transfer deadline.
Late Swoop for Watson Falls Through
According to Sky Sports News, Brighton’s efforts to sign Watson were unsuccessful due to time constraints.
The 18-year-old Sunderland forward had traveled to the South Coast to discuss a potential move, but ultimately, the deal could not be completed.

Watson’s Impressive Form for Sunderland
Watson has demonstrated his goalscoring talent for Sunderland’s Under-21s, scoring five goals in five appearances in the Premier League 2 season.
His performances earned him a place in the first-team setup, where he has scored two goals in 10 Championship matches.

Although currently injured, Watson will aim to help Sunderland in their promotion bid when he returns to full fitness.
