Pedro Neto Snubs Tottenham For Chelsea Switch

Pedro Neto to Chelsea

Chelsea have successfully negotiated a £54million transfer for Portugal winger Pedro Neto from Wolves, beating Tottenham to his signature.

The 24-year-old will join Chelsea for an initial £51.4million plus £2.6million in bonuses.

Neto’s injury-plagued past three seasons limited him to just 51 Premier League appearances, but his talent attracted interest from both Chelsea and Tottenham.

Wolves rejected player-plus-cash offers from both clubs before Chelsea’s third bid on Friday proved successful.

During his time at Wolves, Neto scored 14 goals and provided 24 assists in 135 appearances, earning 10 caps for Portugal, including three appearances at Euro 2024.

Chelsea’s summer spending spree continues, with Neto joining a list of new signings including Tosin Adarabioyo, Marc Guiu, Omari Kellyman, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Renato Veiga, Caleb Wiley, Aaron Anselmino, and soon-to-be-completed signing Mike Penders.

The Blues’ aggressive transfer strategy aims to bolster their squad for the upcoming season, and Neto’s addition provides a significant boost to their attacking options.
