Chelsea's Noni Madueke Faces Lengthy Layoff with Hamstring Injury

Chelsea winger Noni Madueke is set to miss a string of crucial games after suffering a hamstring injury against Brighton & Hove Albion.

The England international is expected to be sidelined until after the March international break.

Games Madueke Could Miss

Madueke’s injury will likely see him miss four Premier League matches, including:

– Aston Villa (February 24)
– Southampton (February 25)
– Leicester City (March 9)
– Arsenal (March)

The 22-year-old will also miss both legs of Chelsea’s Conference League last-16 tie, which take place on March 6 and 13.

Impact on Chelsea’s Attack

Madueke’s absence is a significant blow to Chelsea’s attacking options, which are already depleted due to injuries to Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu.

Mykhaylo Mudryk is also serving a provisional doping ban.

Replacement Options

With Madueke out, Jadon Sancho and Pedro Neto are likely to start out wide, with Christopher Nkunku operating as the central striker.

However, 19-year-old Tyrique George is a wild-card candidate to fill the void left by Madueke.

Madueke’s Season So Far

The former PSV Eindhoven man has produced eight goals and four assists from 28 appearances across all competitions this season, making him Chelsea’s third-highest scorer in the Premier League behind Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson.
