Mohamed Salah had to exit during Egypt’s AFCON group stage clash with Ghana due to injury.
The Liverpool striker limped off just before halftime, seeking treatment for a suspected hamstring issue.
Salah passed the captain’s armband to Ahmed Hegazi and left the pitch, sitting near the dugout for the remaining minutes of the half.
He observed as Mohammed Kudus scored for Ghana, but Omar Marmoush equalized for Egypt.

Mostafa Mohamed replicated this five minutes later, countering Kudus’s goal that had restored the Black Stars’ lead.
“I hope it’s not a big problem,” Vitoria said in his post-match press conference.
“But it was a problem in the first-half, because we lost one time to make a substitution.
In the second-half we only had two moments to make substitutions.”
On the severity of the injury, he added:
“Now I don’t know because it’s [too] early to see something. I think it’s not dangerous, but let’s see if Salah recovers.”
Salah’s substitution will be of concern to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, whose team has already been depleted by injury.
