Lisandro Martinez Vows to Give His All in Recovery from Knee Surgery

Manchester United centre-back Lisandro Martinez has confirmed that he has undergone successful knee surgery, following the severe ACL injury he suffered against Crystal Palace earlier this month.

Martinez’s Emotional Statement

Martinez took to Instagram to share an emotional statement, expressing his gratitude for the support he has received and vowing to give his all in the rehabilitation process.

“Today, after going through several stormy days, I am reconnecting with my essence and my values,” Martinez wrote.

“I feel immense gratitude for the incredible work and support of Man United, Argentina federation, my family, friends, teammates, and everyone who sent me a message of encouragement.”

Road to Recovery

Martinez faces a lengthy recovery period, with reports suggesting he may not return to the field until early 2026.

Manchester United will prioritize his long-term fitness, given his importance to the team.

Injury Crisis at Manchester United

Martinez’s injury is just one of several setbacks for Manchester United, with up to 10 players potentially missing the Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Amad Diallo, Mason Mount, Luke Shaw, and Jonny Evans are definitely out, while Manuel Ugarte and Toby Collyer are fitness doubts.

Academy Players Called Up

To address the injury crisis, Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has brought five academy players into his squad, including 17-year-old goal-scorer Chido Obi.

A victory over Tottenham on Sunday would see Manchester United move up to 12th in the Premier League table.
