Manchester United has reportedly dropped its interest in Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres, despite his impressive form this season.
The Sweden international has scored 34 goals in 35 appearances, but United is hesitant to pay a large sum for a striker who will turn 27 in June.
Alternative Targets
According to The Athletic, United is now focusing on two alternative striker targets: RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko and Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap. Sesko, 21, has scored 15 goals and registered four assists in 30 appearances for Leipzig this season.

Delap, 22, has scored nine times in 23 Premier League appearances for Ipswich.
Sesko’s Attractiveness
Sesko’s youth and potential make him an attractive option for United. Although his price tag is expected to be around £70m, United believes he has a higher ceiling than Gyokeres.
Leipzig is reportedly willing to let Sesko leave this summer.
Delap’s Suitors
Delap is also admired by Chelsea, and Manchester City has a buy-back option worth £29.5m.
United will face competition for his signature, but Delap’s impressive form for Ipswich makes him a viable option.
United’s Current Striker Options
United’s current centre-forward options, Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee, have struggled this season. However, the club has high hopes for 17-year-old Chido Obi Martin.
